Chapter 517: Chapter 517: The Time Corridor, An Unreachable Reality
Having endured a direct hit from Garon's Temporal Rupture Breath and expended a tremendous amount of energy using his most powerful attack, the Primordial Sun God was visibly weakened.
In its current state, if it were to face the Dawn Lord again, the Dawn Lord would undoubtedly triumph.
Faced with the shimmering, radiant silver dragon, the Primordial Sun God's numerous eyes twisted and quivered with agitation. At the same time, the shriveled mouths on its body opened once more.
"Endless darkness, return to me!"
A fierce sucking sound filled the air.
Countless gaping mouths inhaled deeply. The dark radiance that had banished all light in the prime material world solidified like rivers and was drawn back into the Primordial Sun God's body.
The black fog faded, the darkness receded, and various lights began to shine again.
After absorbing his own dark energy, the Primordial Sun God stood exposed under the clear sky. The tendrils that had once withered sprouted anew, covering his body once again, and the dull eyes regained some of their former color.
Visually, the Primordial Sun God appeared unscathed.
However, internally, he was in a severely weakened state, reduced to less than a tenth of his full power.
"Garon Aurelian, you always manage to surprise me," he spat out through gritted teeth, his countless eyes glaring malevolently at the silver dragon.
The towering, imposing silver dragon narrowed his eyes, his gaze cold and dangerous as he fixed upon the Primordial Sun God. A faint smile played across his draconic features.
"Surprise? There will be many more of those," Garon replied coolly. "But I doubt you can handle them."
As he spoke, Garon raised a claw and swiped through the air.
Rip!
Several temporal fracture slashes roared through the air towards the Primordial Sun God.
The tiny tendrils on the Primordial Sun God's body writhed like black flames, merging into larger, thicker tendrils that extended infinitely, colliding with the temporal slashes.
Crack!
The tendrils shattered into black mist but quickly reassembled and returned to the Primordial Sun God.
Despite his resistance, the temporal slashes still reached the spherical body of the Primordial Sun God.
Splat!
Black mist dispersed like spurting blood.
Shallow, yet deep enough to be significant, gashes appeared on the surface of the Primordial Sun God's body. Thin black tendrils of mist began to weave together, rapidly healing the wounds.
Meanwhile, the silver dragon spread his wings wide and charged forward, his overwhelming dragon aura crashing down like a tidal wave.
"You think you can defeat me?" the Primordial Sun God snarled. His black sun-like form surged forward, meeting the silver dragon head-on.
He was well aware that while Garon had withstood his ultimate attack, he too had expended considerable energy. Despite his fierce demeanor, Garon was not at full strength either.
The two titanic beings collided in an instant—a mountainous silver dragon and a dense, black sun god clashing in a furious battle.
Garon's claws, imbued with the power of temporal fractures, slashed through the sky, moving so fast they created millions of afterimages. Each strike sought to tear through the spherical body of the Primordial Sun God.
Simultaneously, the billions of tendrils on the Primordial Sun God's body writhed violently, like a chaotic swarm. The black fog encased his body and tendrils, forming a metallic, dark armor that clashed with Garon's relentless attacks.
Boom, boom, boom!
In the relentless exchange, Garon's claws occasionally breached the Primordial Sun God's dark armor, leaving deep gashes across his body.
Conversely, the tendrils of the Primordial Sun God sometimes landed on Garon's scales, their razor-sharp teeth gnawing at the Temporal Barrier, while dark beams from countless eyes attempted to pierce it. However, few could actually breach the barrier and injure Garon's body.
Despite the fierce battle, Garon clearly held the upper hand.
Both sides were in poor condition, but the Primordial Sun God no longer had any means to turn the tide.
As the battle continued, the Primordial Sun God became increasingly battered, his body covered in countless claw marks and cracks. In contrast, Garon's scales bore few signs of damage, enhancing his fearsome presence.
In the thinning black fog, Garon's tail curved sharply to one side, drawn taut like a bowstring, each scale radiating with latent power.
In the next instant, his tail snapped out like a silver lightning bolt, cutting through the thick black fog and slamming into the Primordial Sun God.
Boom!
The impact was like a hammer striking a nail. The Primordial Sun God's body, struck by the tail, caved inward deeply, his dark armor shattered. Under the tremendous force, the "black sun" was flung at an angle, trailing a dark plume like a falling star, crashing into the already devastated earth.
Crash!
The ground crumbled layer by layer, as if struck by a meteorite. The impact zone spread out, creating a vast semi-circular crater hundreds of kilometers wide, nearly penetrating the earth's crust.
At the bottom of the crater, thick, inky darkness churned and rolled.
Shrouded in the blackness, the Primordial Sun God's body was covered in layers upon layers of wounds, with hardly an inch of his body untouched.
Black fog swirled around, forming threads of dark flesh that slowly began to weave together, attempting to heal his injuries. However, the regeneration process had noticeably slowed.
Initially, the Primordial Sun God could regenerate instantly, with each flash of dark light restoring him completely.
Now, his injuries healed at a visibly slower pace, no longer capable of instantaneous recovery.
High above, the silver dragon gazed down at the embedded black sun.
"After enduring so many attacks, this guy is incredibly weakened, but his vitality remains strong. He's far from dead."
"A near-greater deity of primordial origin is extremely difficult to kill completely."
Looking through the layers of dust and debris, Garon watched as the Primordial Sun God continued to regenerate, albeit more slowly. He silently considered his next move.
At the same time, the power of time silently flowed out, invisible and intangible, covering the plane's barriers, sealing time and space.
Rumble. Dust and debris flew, and rocks trembled.
The black sun, with its tendrils flaring like solar flares, rose again from the depths of the crater.
Without any unnecessary words, the silver dragon folded his wings and plummeted like a missile, a dangerous silver arc streaking through the sky, heading straight for the Primordial Sun God.
This time, the black sun, feeling the overwhelming pressure of Garon's dragon might, didn't charge forward to meet him.
Whoosh!
The Primordial Sun God's body swayed as dense black fog surrounded him, cloaking his form.
At the same time, trailing a thick, substantial dark flame, his speed doubled as he narrowly evaded the silver dragon's descent.
Seizing the opportunity, the Primordial Sun God distanced himself, no longer engaging Garon in direct combat but instead maneuvering evasively.
Buzz!
After sustaining some attacks and pulling away from Garon, the dark light around the Primordial Sun God began to boil, enveloping him like burning flames. He then crashed into the planar barrier.
Crack! Crack!
The planar barrier, like a mirror under impact, formed visible cracks resembling spider webs or lightning patterns extending from the point of contact.
But the "mirror" didn't shatter.
For at the surface of the planar barrier, as it endured the Primordial Sun God's fierce collision, a faint layer of silver light, resembling interlocking dragon scales, flickered lightly, anchoring the time and space in place.
"Did you think the desolation god that sought to destroy the Noah Continent was captured by me so easily?"
Garon asked calmly.
His dragon claws held a piece of compressed earth, sealed in a time amber, resembling a peculiar artifact of yellow sand.
Hovering above, the silver dragon looked down at the black sun embedded in the ground, his gaze indifferent. "Yaheng, you too will become part of my collection, just like Akaluan."
"I recognize your divine status. You will be a black pearl among my numerous treasures."
He paused, a faint, emotionless smile appearing on his draconic face. "Consider it an honor to be part of my collection, for it means an alternative form of immortality."
The eyes of the Primordial Sun God twisted with dark intent, surrounded by thick black fog. Slowly, he responded, "So, I should thank you, then."
Garon flexed his wings slightly, speaking calmly, "I'll accept your gratitude."
Upon hearing this, the Primordial Sun God suddenly shuddered, his numerous mouths opening wide in a burst of harsh laughter, as if he had heard something amusing.
"Garon Aurelian, I admit I underestimated you."
"But despite your strength, do you really think you can seal me? Wait until you reach near-greater deity status before you talk."
"Once I break through your temporal seal and leave this plane, what can you do?"
The Primordial Sun God sneered, "Do you plan to chase me to the outer planes and then seal me? If so, I'm ready whenever you are!"
In the outer planes, even as an intermediate deity, Garon was formidable.
However, compared to a near-greater deity like the Primordial Sun God, Garon was still a level below, unable to match him in direct confrontation.
"Leaving you confined to the prime material world is enough."
Garon's gaze deepened, his expression calm.
"Think
your seal can hold me? Let's see about that."
With that, the Primordial Sun God's dark flames surged wildly, wrapping around his body as he continued to slam into the planar barrier.
Boom!
Under the invisible tremor, the dragon scale-like temporal seal network cracked more densely, while the planar barrier itself deeply dented.
A few more collisions, and the planar barrier would shatter.
The Primordial Sun God differed from Akaluan, whom Garon had faced before.
Akaluan couldn't focus on breaking the temporal seal in front of Garon, as the gap in their power meant that splitting his attention to escape would have led to his immediate defeat.
But the Primordial Sun God, a near-greater deity, could withstand Garon's attacks and, despite taking some damage, break through the temporal seal and leave the prime material world.
"Yaheng, you speak so grandly that I almost believed I was the one fleeing in disgrace."
"Don't forget, you're the one trying to escape under my dragon might."
"And do you really think you can flee from under my wings?"
Garon's gaze turned sharp and resolute.
At that moment, with the darkness receding, a trembling sun began to rise over the horizon, its first light shining across the land.
Basking in the sunlight, the silver dragon gleamed brightly, his head held high, his horns majestic like a crown, exuding an aura of extraordinary grandeur.
Simultaneously, in his colossal form, Garon's wings, spanning over eight thousand meters, spread wide, expanding even further under his will, encompassing the sky like a vast silver canopy.
On this "canopy," circular patterns glowed faintly, with the river of time flowing, spiraling, and converging.
Any creature capable of perceiving the river of time would, upon looking up at this canopy, see a profound vortex, blending the past, present, and future into an inseparable, continuous loop.
The near-greater deity Primordial Sun God could sense the anomalies in the river of time.
"This guy still has more tricks up his sleeve!"
Feeling a surge of unease, the Primordial Sun God intensified his dark energy output, surrounding himself with raging black flames and slamming harder against the planar barrier.
Crack! Crack!
With each impact, the planar barrier trembled violently, the cracks spreading rapidly.
In the sky, the massive silver dragon stood with his wings spread, gazing down at the Primordial Sun God through his reflective platinum eyes, his wings creating a vortex within the river of time.
The swirling patterns on his wings, resembling Van Gogh's starry night, manipulated the river of time to form an immense vortex capable of engulfing everything.
This vortex was Garon's primary ability upon ascending to intermediate deity status, a unique power he had named:
**Time Corridor**
The Time Corridor lay beneath Garon's wings, encompassing the area covered by his massive wingspan.
Currently, the Primordial Sun God was within Garon's wings, under the influence of the Time Corridor.
The Primordial Sun God sensed the disturbance in the river of time.
However, weakened and confined to the prime material world, he was unaware that he had already fallen under the Time Corridor's influence.
Boom!
With another fierce collision, the dragon scale-like temporal seal network shattered, and the planar barrier, deeply dented, reached its limit before breaking apart along the cracks.
The breach in the planar barrier meant the temporal seal was no longer effective.
This signaled that the Primordial Sun God could now leave the prime material world for the outer planes.
In the outer planes, Garon, still an intermediate deity, wouldn't dare pursue the Primordial Sun God.
Relieved, the Primordial Sun God looked up at the silver dragon with a malevolent glare. "Garon Aurelian, watch closely. You will ultimately be devoured by my darkness."
With those words, the black sun, trailing a billowing black fog, moved towards the breach in the planar barrier.
At that instant...
It was as if the other side of the barrier was still part of the prime material world.
The Primordial Sun God, who had just vanished, reappeared, and the cracks in the planar barrier began to reverse, returning to the state before they had shattered.
Not only the Primordial Sun God.
Everything within Garon's wings, under the influence of the swirling Time Corridor, reverted to the moment when Garon's wings first formed the vast canopy, and the temporal vortex covered the area.
And just like before, the Primordial Sun God, feeling the pressure, intensified his dark energy output, slamming against the planar barrier.
Breaking through the barrier again, the Primordial Sun God felt a moment of relief and looked up at the calm-faced silver dragon with a malevolent glare. "Garon Aurelian, watch closely. You will ultimately be devoured by my darkness."
At this moment, exactly as before.
