Reincarnated as a Doomed Extra

Chapter 19: Valheim Magic Academy[3]

When I exited the testing room, I was met with the sight of an empty hall.

It was silent, unlike what it had been minutes before, with very few people in it.

The prince and princess had already disappeared with the main cast. They probably went to the entrance ceremony.

'Won't they wait for Seraphina…?' I asked myself and realized it at the same time.

These guys had a lot of complications in their relationships at the beginning of the game…

Noble crap and family complications…

I guess that's just what makes you noble.

Headache.

Anyway, the reason I was standing in place was that even Solon and Ned weren't there…

That clingy guy definitely didn't leave without waiting for me…

"They're testing."

A guard spoke from behind me before I could ask.

'Oh. Makes sense.'

I nodded and was about to sit back down. Waiting for them.

"Number 94 for the Magical Section."

Another guard spoke, which made me stop again and glance at my other paper.

"…"

After a quick glance, I silently walked towards the Magical Section room.

As soon as I opened the door, I put my hand in front of my face to shield my eyes from the brightness and heard gasps everywhere.

-"That commoner…"

-"Is this a joke?"

-"It doesn't seem like it…"

'Clichés…'

In front of me, Solon stood in front of a rather large crystal. With his hand placed on it, the crystal glowed intensely and emitted two colors with extreme brightness.

The two colors were yellow and red, and the brightness emitted by the crystal clearly indicated the highest possible affinity with the element.

"Bro, you came. Look at this, this guy is insane!"

Ned pulled my shoulder out of nowhere. His stunned face looked funny, but his closeness annoyed me.

"I know already, my friend. Can you take your hand off me?" I spoke with slight annoyance.

However, Ned gave no other response as he continued to stare in amazement at Solon, just like everyone else.

I removed his hand from my shoulder and stared at Solon.

Solon had only revealed his affinities with lightning and fire.

This was because of what the church had said earlier.

Something about hiding the light element to avoid attracting unwanted attention and other things, which I couldn't agree with more. It was the only thing that happened as in the game, and I was really grateful for it.

After a moment of hesitation, the examiner, a woman in her mid-twenties, spoke in a trembling voice, "A-Affinity: d-dual affinity with lightning and fire elements. Affinity intensity:…highest possible affinity with the elements…" Her voice turned into a whisper at the end, and silence filled the hall.

Looking at the examiner's trembling eyes behind her glasses, I felt sorry for her. I think she's had more shocks today than she's had in her entire life…

'Well, blame the main cast for this…'

In fact, this wasn't the first time everyone had seen the highest possible affinity with an element, and it certainly wasn't the first time everyone had seen dual affinity…

But both together?

That was something big that left them stunned.

Even among the main cast who have dual affinities, none of them have the highest possible affinity with both elements.

"Isn't this just broken?"

A voice full of cold contempt cut through the surrounding silence.

The person who had just spoken had fiery red hair with eyes of the same color, while his clothes screamed the noble status he enjoyed.

'Ah, I forgot this creature existed…' I rubbed my temple tiredly.

"I demand another crystal be brought. Or do you want to give just anyone the highest possible affinity with their element?" He continued his stupid rant.

This man was…

He was….

Hmm…..

Well, I forgot his name, but I'm sure he belongs to the Emberfall Duchy.

The Emberfall family was famous for having many sons who had a strong affinity with the fire element. This was something related to their bloodline, if I'm not mistaken.

Besides this, the family was famous for being one of the pioneers in the field of industries and producing potions and other items. In general, it was a family that favored their sons choosing the field of industry and art over fighting and barbarism.

And this child, in their eyes and mine, was the definition of perfect failure.

Literally.

For a family that prides itself on its bloodline, this boy only showed a three-star affinity with the fire element, his only element.

The worst part?

He ignored his family's traditions and beliefs and took a path other than industry and art, which is the only thing I respect him for as a third-rate villain.

Although this is a different story for his family…

"You have no right to question the credibility of the institution's tools, student Radmion." The examiner spoke in a stern voice.

'Yes, his name was Radmion Emberfall…what was his middle name again?'

I shook my head and sighed as I saw the third-rate villain click his tongue in disdain.

From my point of view, I could see deeper feelings in his eyes…feelings of despair.

Despair begging for recognition…

After the matter was settled, Solon came to our side and got a high-five from Ned. They had become like best friends in a matter of minutes.

Talk to me about clichés and I'll tell you about the main cast…

"Look at you, bro. You pissed off a noble ass on your first day. Hahahaha."

"Yeah, I don't know what's wrong with him really…" Solon replied confusedly, unaware that he had shattered the pride and confidence of a noble young man in the background.

Frankly, I can't blame Radmion for what he did. Even I would feel insulted if a commoner came out of nowhere carrying a stronger affinity than my affinity that my family and bloodline pride themselves on…

"Next."

The examiner screamed, announcing the continuation of the test.

After a while, the number of students in the room dwindled until there were fewer than five people left.

The examiner, Solon, Ned, an extra, and me.

As expected, Radmion showed a three-star affinity with the fire element, while Ned showed a four-star affinity with wind, which made me hold back my laughter as much as I could when I saw Radmion's expression at that time.

He was truly pitiful…

"Next."

"Come on, bro. Don't worry even if you get a low affinity." Ned patted my shoulder, trying to comfort me.

I looked at him confused before realizing he had misunderstood my standing still.

"Eh, really? W-Will you be my friend even if I'm a failure?" I spoke in a fearful and pleading tone. From the corner of my eye, I saw Solon holding back his laughter by putting his hand over his mouth.

"Yes. Who do you think I am? I'll never leave a friend!" With an encouraging expression, he pushed me forward towards the crystal.

'It hasn't even been half an hour since we met though…'

"Place your hand on the crystal and pump your mana with the affinities you have only." The supervisor spoke, and I nodded in response.

I placed my hand on the crystal and felt its coldness on my skin. I took a deep breath and let the ice and water mana flow into the crystal.

Although I was able to manipulate the intensity of the affinities, except for the darkness element, I didn't intend to hide anything.

If I wanted to maximize the strength of the main cast to face the obstacles that would be thrown at them, I needed to be by their side.

There were many paths that events could take, and I would play the role of their navigator. Even if I didn't want to, I had to do it for Solon, and more for myself.

The crystal glowed with light blue and dark blue colors with blinding and extremely intense brightness.

Behind me, Solon shielded his eyes with his hand while both Ned and the extra froze in place with their jaws dropped open in the shape of an O.

The most alarming reaction was the one in front of me…

"Um. Are you okay?" I asked awkwardly, scratching my head.

The examiner fell on her rear, causing her glasses to fall on her stomach too. Her body trembled on the floor as she spoke.

"A-Affinity: d-dual affinity with ice and water elements. Affinity intensity: highest possible affinity with the elements…"
