Chapter 83: Clash of Monsters

Boom.

A circular shockwave crashed against the water-blue barrier, as if a massive stone had been thrown into a calm pool, scattering droplets everywhere. The wave exploded on the surface of the water barrier with a deafening roar, unleashing a fierce gust mixed with torrents of water, surging in all directions.

The battlefield turned into a sudden storm, with wind and rain lashing wildly, throwing everyone off balance, stumbling in every direction.

"Are… are we saved?"

"It's Lord Hiroto!"

"Thank goodness!"

Behind me, the drenched young shinobi bowed repeatedly, relieved to have narrowly escaped danger. As regulars around the Konoha camp, many of them recognized me as Tsunade's prized disciple. Some even knew I'd been promoted to Jōnin despite being only eight.

"No need to thank me," I said, still facing the One-Tail. "Move back a bit. The battle's about to get intense, and it'd be best not to get caught in it." As soon as I finished speaking, I launched myself forward, leaving a streak of light in my wake. My hands flew through hand seals, and my cheeks puffed up.

Fire Style: Dragon Flame Song Jutsu!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Four flame-formed dragon heads erupted from my mouth, streaking like guided missiles with dark red trails straight toward the One-Tail. They struck its body and exploded on impact, sending clouds of dust billowing.

Roar!

An earth-shaking roar filled the air.

As the dust settled, I could see a part of the One-Tail's shoulder had disintegrated into fine sand, sliding to the ground like flowing blood. But in moments, the sand reformed, and its body was whole again.

"Damn. This regeneration speed is something else," I muttered, finally understanding why tailed beasts were said to be immortal. With such insane regenerative power, there were only two ways to deal with them: either deal enough damage to knock it out in one go or seal it directly. Forget wearing it down in a prolonged fight.

Even if my attack didn't have much effect, it only made the One-Tail angrier, seething with rage. This irritating little bug dared to hurt it—utterly unforgivable!

Its thick tail swung up like a giant whip, aiming right at me.

Boom!

Explosions echoed as the tail smashed through everything in its path—rocks, trees, even buildings—flattening them instantly, the devastation staggering to witness.

But the attack missed me. At my speed, dodging such a cumbersome strike was hardly a challenge. I used Shunpo to soar into the air, swinging my right leg in a fierce arc toward the One-Tail's stomach.

Sky Dragon's Hook Claw!

Swoosh!

The air ripped around my kick, and behind me, a massive, ghostly claw shadow formed, tearing forward with the force to crush anything in its path. The strike hit the One-Tail squarely in the stomach.

Thud. Thud. Thud.

Under the brutal impact, the One-Tail's massive body staggered backward, sand spilling from three deep gashes across its belly, scattering all around. Even from a distance, it was clear.

Stunned silence filled the battlefield.

Everyone who saw this scene looked as if they'd been hit by a petrification spell.

No way. This can't be real! Am I dreaming?

Everyone stared, wide-eyed and speechless, at the One-Tail's wounds.

I couldn't blame them for their disbelief. After all, what had just happened defied reason. My eight-year-old frame, compared to the One-Tail's colossal form, was like an ant against a mountain. Yet in that moment, the ant had just made the mountain tremble!

But this was only the beginning. What followed truly shattered their beliefs.

I unleashed move after move—Sky Dragon's Wing Strike, Sky Dragon's Fang Crush, Sky Dragon's Power Fist—each blow reducing the One-Tail to a mere sandbag, forced to take my relentless attacks. Sand exploded in all directions, its body gradually falling apart and looking worse by the second.

Overpowered!

Despite how impossible it seemed, even the Sand shinobi couldn't deny it: their tailed beast was being held down by a kid who didn't even look ten.

The Sand shinobi looked shaken, as if their faith had crumbled, while the Konoha shinobi could only watch in awe and astonishment.

"Too… too amazing!"

"Is Lord Hiroto even human?"

"From a certain angle, this isn't something a human should be able to do."

"A monster! These two are real monsters!"
