Chapter 411: Time Ratio
After having confirmed with Tracy that he was indeed gone for a month on record, Xu Feng finally realized why the changes at Star Falls City were so drastic.
While players only experienced a day update, the Divine World continued to operate. During that time, the NPCs were still active, which meant that Xu Feng had missed an important detail.
The Kobold's invasion at Paradise Plains didn't last for two days, but rather a month.
'Just how large was the scale of the invasion then?' Xu Feng knitted his brows, having detected that the city was still intact.
This meant that the invasion was long and tedious, but no actual damage was dealt to the structure or the foundation of the city.
Amidst the deep thoughts from Xu Feng, there was one thing that Tracy had suddenly recalled.
"Oh, by the way, Jessica from the Adventure Association had mentioned time and time again that if you were to return. You are to meet up with her as soon as possible." She relayed, feeling a bit embarrassed for having forgotten this important matter.
Nodding, Xu Feng wasn't surprised that Jessica wished to meet with him now that he realized the time ratio difference regarding this particular major update.
Although it wasn't surprising for the Divine World to accelerate so fast during a massive update, Xu Feng simply didn't expect the first update to take a month.
If he recalled properly of his past timeline, it was only a week or so in the first update.
"I understand, and I hope you can vacate a few rooms first. I might have guests coming from afar so I hope that they will have a nice place to stay," Xu Feng informed her.
"Ah, I see." Realization dawned upon her as she nodded in understanding. "I'll ensure your guest will receive a 20 percent discount and free food."
"No, charge them at a rate higher than our usual price. As for food, make sure they have to pay extra." Xu Feng raised his hand and stopped her.
"These guests of mine are very rich, so if they don't have coins, they can use the real-world currency to exchange. Make sure the ratio is 1 to 3 though." He added, utilizing the new feature being included.
Previously, NPCs had no clue about the exchange currency, so they couldn't charge players real-world currency.
However, this new update allowed players to begin using real-world currency in replacement of coins. It might sound very good, but the truth was far from it.
The value of real-world currency was immensely depreciated in the Divine World, making the in-game currency the dominant money market still.
In fact, it was almost— actually, a literal highway robbery if one were to use real-world currency to live and not use coins.
"Understood, I'll inform the other employees then." Tracy bowed and quickly excused herself to implement the changes.
Either way, charging them high was equivalent to earning a higher bonus for herself. Not to mention, it was clear that her boss loved to butcher the wealthy ruthlessly.
"Sigh, having Tracy as an employee is really a fortunate event as the boss." Xu Feng smiled at her efficiency.
At this moment, Carmen sent another message to him, informing him that approximately 50 percent of the winning bidders had arrived at Star Falls City.
Since most of these people hailed from cities that were far away, Xu Feng wasn't surprised that it would take them a while.
Suddenly, a video call was being dialed to him, and he was confused. Accepting the call, Carmen's face showed up on the other side.
"Didn't you send me a message already? Why did you want to video call me that cost money to use?" Xu Feng raised an eyebrow.
Because the Divine World was even more of a money grubber than him, doing a video call would cost them 2 copper coins.
It was definitely not worth the price when one could easily log off to do the Facetime call instead. The reason why one would resort to it was when there are special circumstances that prevented one from logging out or that logging out would result in a huge penalty.
"I'm not talking about the message I sent but another matter." Carmen smiled bitterly.
"Well, then out with it." Xu Feng rolled his eyes, wondering why everyone wanted to beat around the bushes.
Just be direct with it and stop wasting his time already!
"Okay, I might not be able to make it to the raid." Carmen mustered up her courage and exclaimed.
"..."
First, it was Crimson Heart who had to opt-out, but now even his top Summoner wanted to call a leave as well?
Did these two collaborate to mess with him?
Nevertheless, Xu Feng remained calm and composed. He softly asked, "And why would you not be able to make it to the raid?"
"Um, I'm not sure if you realized it, but the Divine World had actually gone past by a month during the major update."
"Yes, I knew about it a while ago."
"Okay good. Librarian Griselda had previously given me a time limit, and now was the time for me to meet up with her, especially when I reached the prerequisites level."
Soon, Xu Feng realized why she might not be able to make it. She was going to undergo her Tier Advancement. And each attempt could either take a very long time or a short time depending on the player's capability.
"How much time do you expect to take?" Xu Feng pursed his lips and questioned.
Carmen pondered deeply before replying, "A little bit about 2 or 3 days."
Thanks to the experience she had in the Arena previously, she was somewhat familiar with her Hidden Class, Voidmancer. Thus, to advance her tier and obtain the hidden class shouldn't be that difficult.
Of course, if it had been a regular Tier Advancement, 1 day or even less would have been enough, but Carmen was different. Stay connected with empire
She was technically undergoing two sets of trials in one. Think of it as someone taking a test that had the subject Math and Science combined, and no, it's not physics.
'Why is everything crumbling before me?' Xu Feng lamented inwardly.
