Chapter 7
“Pant, pant!”
“Kyui, Kyui!”
I rushed upstairs to the living room, where I found the source of the voice I had heard earlier.
“…Sis.”
“Ah, Hoshi-kun!”
“Welcome back.”
“Ta-da-ima!”
“Hmmph!”
The moment our eyes met, I was suddenly enveloped in a soft embrace.
“It’s suffocating…”
“Eh, it’s fine for a little while!”
“It’s everyday. Okay, let go.”
“Hmph.”
Looking up, I saw a woman with a pouting face.
She is “Erika,” whom I call sister. Though not related by blood, she’s asked me to call her that.
“Ah, you’re so cold.”
Her hair, reaching down to her waist, is a silky lime green. She has sky-blue eyes and a voluptuous body.
Not Japanese by appearance, but I’ve grown used to her since we’ve been together for so long. She’s the reason I can live in this parentless house.
But living with her has its challenges.
“Let’s have some snacks then.”
“I’m not a kid. And stop patting my head.”
Firstly, she loves pampering me. I’m in high school now, and it’s getting embarrassing.
Though I say that, I still accepted the snacks. Just for the record.
“Sis, you went to a cooking class today?”
“Yeah.”
While eating the pancakes she made, we chatted casually.
“Kyui~!”
Melon enjoyed some fruits harvested from the dungeon, looking adorable.
“Then, you know…”
“Yeah, um… Huh?”
Sis turned to look at me slowly.
“What were you doing earlier?”
“Eh.”
“You came up from the basement in a hurry, right?”
“N-no idea…”
My mind raced back to the stream. I averted my gaze, trying to hide it.
“Really?”
“…Yeah.”
“Hmm?”
“Don’t stand so close.”
But no matter where I looked, there she was. Eventually, she glanced behind me.
“So, what’s that?”
“…!”
She pointed at the floating camera, which was still capturing us.
Left with no choice, I admitted.
“…I was streaming.”
“Streaming! That’s amazing! Then…”
“What?”
Despite knowing what she was going to say, I asked.
“I want to be in the stream too!”
“No.”
“Ah!”
She looked disappointed, making a square mouth.
“Why not?”
Her eyes started to well up, but I remained firm.
“…Because it’s embarrassing.”
“What’s embarrassing?”
“You’re always like this.”
“Of course!”
She stood up, extending her index finger dramatically.
“Everyone should see how close me and Hoshi-kun are!”
“Yeah, that’s why it’s a no.”
“Oh~!”
She pouted, hands on her hips, acting much younger than her age.
“Thanks for the meal.”
“Sure.”
I finished the pancakes and approached the camera.
“How do I turn this off?”
I had left it in the basement, thinking it was off.
“Hmm?”
As I fiddled with it, I noticed a red light on top.
“Eh.”
Remembering Nanami’s words, my heart sank.
“When this is lit, it’s streaming.”
“…!?”
In panic, I operated the camera, and a hologram-like display appeared again.
“Uh-oh.”
“Did you… see everything?”
“Of course.”
“Caught it all! Haha.”
“Even the affectionate parts.”
“Envious!”
“What have I done…”
I seemed to have only toggled the comments display, not stopped the stream.
“Aaahh!”
Embarrassed, I groaned in agony.
“Wow, so this is streaming!”
Sis approached the camera enthusiastically.
“Hello~! Hoshi-kun’s sister, Erika here!”
“Hello~!”
“Erika-san!”
“Such a beauty!!”
“Unbelievable!”
“Not Japanese, right?”
“Fluent in Japanese though!”
“Such a beautiful woman!”
The comments heated up, but my mind was elsewhere.
“Wow, 200,000 viewers!”
“200,000!?”
I couldn’t believe it. I stood up abruptly.
“That’s right, look!”
“What the…?”
This was going to haunt me forever. I almost fainted again.
Sis continued to interact with the viewers.
“What’s your relationship with Hoshi?”
“Oh, our relationship? Let’s see…”
She turned to me.
“Can I tell them?”
“Just do whatever.”
“Then~”
She flicked her lime green hair and answered dramatically.
“I’m an elf.”
“Elf!?”
“The elf?”
“Seriously!?”
“That explains her beauty!”
“That’s… so special.”
“I was originally in a dungeon, but now I’m Hoshi-kun’s sister.”
“Wow!”
“Jealous.”
“Unfair.”
“Lucky Hoshi!”
“An elf sister…”
I asked, puzzled.
“Aren’t elves not that rare
?”
“What are you saying!?”
“They’re incredibly rare!”
“Usually just green blobs.”
“That’s why she’s so… wow.”
“Unbelievable!!”
It seemed my perception was off. Apparently, elves aren’t usually humanoid. Maybe it’s the effect of the “Mana Water.”
“Hehe~”
Sis was pleased with the comments.
“See how amazing your sister is?”
“Not really.”
“Stubborn!”
“Don’t cling!”
As we briefly chatted, I finally managed to end the stream for real. The incident later became a popular “clip,” spreading my embarrassment even further.
Didn’t Nanami say she’d watch? She could have called.
“Aaahh!”
Thus, my first stream ended.
Meanwhile, Nanami…
“That woman’s voice…”
Unconscious, unaware of the broadcasting accident.
