Chapter 246: Journey

The ideology of Cyclops has always been one of mild realism. When faced with difficulties, he doesn't oppose using violence, even arming students and sending them into battle. Therefore, he parted ways with Wolverine and Beast due to ideological differences.

Now, Jean's policies seem to vaguely align with his philosophy. Although she sold his motorcycle and car, he doesn't mind at all. On the contrary, he loves Jean more and more, feeling that she is his true life partner who understands him.

Professor Xavier is in an embarrassing position now. His proudest left and right-hand people have both deviated from his ideology, and Storm's influence is relatively weaker. He has to summon Wolverine, who is still in the East, to come back and help.

Professor Xavier won't stop Cyclops and Jean, whom he regards as his own children, but he will gently try to correct them. That's the current situation at Xavier's School.

Storm went through Jean's various measures, from coffee restrictions to setting up special bonuses, rewards for diligence, and punishment for laziness, and the number of Grey's Directive has now increased to 15, with the walls full of them!

"Oh? By the way, what did you want to talk to me about?" Storm poured out her grievances, only asking Daisy's purpose at the end.

Daisy chuckled awkwardly. These measures sounded very familiar! Many of them were methods she taught Hill. The problem was, that Hill and Jean didn't know each other; the only common acquaintance they had was herself.

Smiling, Daisy said she just wanted to invite her out for dinner, nothing else. Storm let go of her mental burden, ate a hearty meal, and went back to teaching in a happy mood.

Daisy had Danger observe her sleeping condition for two days. Danger reported that there were some anomalies in her brain waves that were going somewhere, but the instruments couldn't detect where they were going.

Daisy speculated that she might have some connection with Jean, or rather, with the Phoenix. This was a serious issue that needed to be addressed immediately.

Realizing the seriousness of the problem, she and Nick Fury requested leave, stating that she needed some time off for a break.

"Where are you going?" Nick Fury asked her in a stern tone of voice.

Daisy felt it would be insulting to people's IQ to use finding her birth parents as an excuse. She had never cared about her birth parents in her daily actions and behavior.

She chose to tell a partial truth: "During the battle against Doctor Doom, a mysterious person gave me some guidance that I need to go somewhere to seek power and further enhance my abilities."

Nick Fury looked at her carefully, as if to confirm whether she was telling the truth. Finally, he sighed, "How long will you be gone?"

Whether Kunlun would accept her as an outsider and teach her their secrets, she didn't know. Ancient one has a lot of reputation, no doubt, but she didn't even give her a token or letter of introduction. How would Kunlun confirm her identity? She didn't know how long this trip would take.

Kunlun had a ten-year limit for entering Earth. If she could enter, she could naturally leave, so the time wasn't too strict.

"About three months, I guess?"

Fury nodded, then thought for a moment and pulled out a very retro and low-tech pager from his coat pocket...

Daisy took the pager with a puzzled expression on her face. Soon, she noticed something unusual about it. It looked low-tech, but in reality, there were no traces of assembly, completely seamless without any seams.

Seemingly aware of her question, Nick Fury gave her a simple introduction, "Take it with you. Even if you go to outer space, you can still receive signals from Earth. S.H.I.E.L.D. still needs you."

With that, Fury left gracefully, without any hesitation.

Left alone, Daisy thought about this pager. She examined it from every angle but found that, apart from its appearance, it didn't resemble any Earth-made product. Its frequency was unique, and although it was a material product, it exhibited many characteristics of mental energy in Daisy's frequency perception.

It seemed to have been manifested with mental energy.

After studying it for a while with no progress, she simply stuffed it into her bag.

With her work arranged and many tasks sorted out, S.H.I.E.L.D. had Fury and Hydra had Viper to help out. Even if she wasn't there, both could run smoothly. She also took care of matters concerning her villa and Hammer Industries.

Daisy suggested removing the invisible bomb of Erica, but the Maki was unusually playful and rarely refused her.

According to her, everything was under control.

Thinking about how in the original timeline, the two of them fought each other equally, now Maki had many more resources in her hands compared to before. Both S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra were formidable entities, and diverting a bit of resources to deal with a weak threat like Erica wasn't a big deal. If she wanted to play, let her play.

After busy arrangements for half a month, on a Sunday morning, Daisy set off on her journey to the Kunlun alone, equipped with gear and carrying a backpack.

Daisy first went to Afghanistan, following the escape route of the Mandarin. In her opinion, if she could grab a few more rings, it wouldn't be a bad thing.

Unfortunately, the traces from that day were buried too deeply. Even though she double-checked the route before her departure, all she could see in her line of sight were snow-capped mountains.

She then turned to Nepal, where Brother Fatty Wong had given her the address of Kamar-Taj. Daisy wanted to know what the Ancient One thought about her use of the Lasso.

Unfortunately, the Ancient One was not there. According to Wong, she had gone on a journey across the multiverse.

"I don't know where the Master is now, it's a pity. Her knowledge surpasses the limits of my understanding." Fatty Wong was still enthusiastic and didn't even mention the incident where she threw a few side characters from the New York Sanctum into the Mirror Dimension.

"Amazing!" Daisy exclaimed sincerely. While she struggled to travel to an alien planet, others were already playing around in the multiverse, even getting tired of it! The gap was really not small.

She helped the young students at Kamar-Taj set up a network, allowing them to feel the modern atmosphere while "training". With farewells from a few people, Daisy waved and disappeared into the mountains.

It was her first time crossing dimensions. In her calculations, finding the intersection point between Kamar-Taj and the current world would result in a smaller margin of error during the teleportation.

On the second day in the mountains, Daisy looked at the trap five meters in front of her feet and sighed. What a boring trick!

She kicked a pebble on the ground with her hiking boots, which hit the tripwire lightly and swiftly. Three spears, coated with a significant amount of poison, were launched by the mechanism from the other side. However, despite the potency of the poison, they missed their target as the spears flew hundreds of meters and disappeared into the woods.

As the trap failed, the sound of shuffling footsteps surrounded Daisy. Over a dozen red-clad ninjas emerged from the shadows of the trees, surrounding her.

It was her old friends and opponents, the Hand's ninjas.
