Transmigrated into a Villainess? I’m Going to conquer the Heroine!

Chapter 90 - Working on main mission

The car pulled into the underground parking lot of the Wish Headquarters.

The executive office was on the 44th floor. Tang Yuan followed Jiang Zi out of the elevator, passing the secretary’s office before stepping into Jiang Zi’s private office.

The moment the door clicked shut, the gossip began.

“That’s President Jiang’s girlfriend, right? She’s gorgeous! Finally got to see her in person.”

“Bringing his girlfriend to work today? I’m not jealous at all, nope, not even a little.”

“Working for Wish during the day, chasing Jiang Tang’s variety shows at night—my whole life is filled with President Jiang’s presence.”

“Hey, hey, hey, keep it down with the misleading comments. I’m a die-hard Jiang Tang fan, okay?”

Amid the chatter, the front desk secretary’s voice suddenly rang out, “Mr. Tang is here. President Jiang just arrived—please, come in!”

Instant silence. The entire office froze.

Tang Gu cast a brief glance around, offering a polite nod. The receptionist stepped forward to guide him, stopping at Jiang Zi’s office door. A soft knock. “President Jiang, Mr. Tang has arrived.”

After receiving permission, the secretary opened the door, motioning for Tang Gu to enter.

The first thing he noticed was a girl curled up on the lounge sofa inside.

Tang Yuan looked up, her eyes bright. “Brother, you’re here! Good afternoon. Have you eaten?”

Tang Gu frowned slightly, his gaze shifting to Jiang Zi. “She?”

“She’s been involved with matters related to our current project. Having her on board doubles the efficiency.”

Tang Gu pressed his lips together, his skeptical gaze landing on Tang Yuan. Doubles the efficiency? He couldn’t picture it.

After all, he’d been her brother for over twenty years. If he didn’t know her by now, who would?

It wasn’t that he looked down on her—everyone had their strengths. Tang Yuan’s just didn’t lie in business acumen.

Tang Yuan immediately caught on to what he was thinking and clicked her tongue. “Don’t give me that look. Let me show you what real capability looks like.”

Tang Gu arched his right brow, too lazy to argue. He simply walked over and sat on the sofa beside her, finally noticing the file folder on the table and the stack of printed documents in her hands—she probably hadn’t been sitting there long.

Without ceremony, Tang Yuan shoved the papers into his hands. “Here.”

Tang Gu glanced down. “What’s this?”

“Evidence of Lu Shan’en’s murders.”

His fingers paused mid-flip, then he began reading carefully.

The documents detailed crime scenes with accompanying photos. Though the print quality was poor, the images were unmistakably gruesome.

Lu Shan’en’s face, however, was crystal clear.

It didn’t look fabricated. Tang Gu frowned slightly. “Where did you get this?”

Tang Yuan shrugged, ignoring the question. She got up and trotted over to Jiang Zi’s desk. “Sister, I need a laptop.”

Jiang Zi was in the middle of printing documents. Without missing a beat, she handed over a spare laptop. “Password’s your name plus your birthday. I’ll join you in a minute.”

Tang Yuan hugged the laptop, quickly typing in her name in pinyin and her birthdate. It worked. The desktop was neat and organized.

“Aren’t you afraid I’ll find something… private?”

Jiang Zi chuckled softly. “I don’t keep that kind of stuff on this computer.”

Tang Yuan’s eyes widened. “Oh-ho! So you do have private stuff. Confess, and I’ll consider forgiving you.”

Jiang Zi retrieved her freshly printed documents, calmly organizing them before standing up. She leaned down, whispering softly in Tang Yuan’s ear, “You’ll get to see it with me. Just… not yet.”

Tang Yuan froze, then stumbled back three steps, her face flushed. “I don’t care! Keep it to yourself!”

“Alright, back to business.” Jiang Zi turned to Tang Gu, who was still seated. “Brother, let’s move to the lounge.”

Tang Gu gave them both a once-over, scoffing softly as he grabbed the file folder. His demeanor cooled noticeably as he walked into the lounge without another glance.

Two love-struck fools. As if they’d accomplish anything.

In Tang Gu’s career-centric worldview, romance was nothing but a waste of time.

Tang Yuan carried the laptop and followed Jiang Zi into the lounge, closing the door behind them.

She retrieved a USB drive from the folder and plugged it in. The files were well-organized, with Lu Shan’en’s financial records and—more importantly—videos.

Tang Yuan clicked on one at random. The footage appeared to be from a surveillance camera. Lu Shan’en stood holding a syringe, facing someone tied to a chair. “Test subjects should know their place. Don’t make me get rough.”

What followed were screams—raw, bone-chilling screams.

Tang Yuan’s scalp tingled. She quickly clicked on the next video.

This one showed Lu Shan’en dissecting a living person.

Tang Yuan gagged, collapsing onto the table, shoving the laptop toward Tang Gu. “Nope. Done. Absolute freak.”

Lu Shan’en was the executive’s doctor and friend of the male lead—he was a sadist with a penchant for human experimentation. After Dong Ling betrayed Chu Yu, Lu Shan’en became Chu Yu’s most trusted confidant.

Whenever new drugs needed testing, Lu Shan’en handled it personally. Most bigshots wouldn’t dirty their own hands, but Lu Shan’en was different. He thrived on fear and suffering. His hands were stained with blood.

Meng Yao’er had lived in the Lu family for eight years. Even with limited mobility, she’d managed to capture plenty of incriminating evidence against him.

Jiang Zi gently rubbed Tang Yuan’s back, her expression unfazed as she glanced at the footage. Instead, she went straight to the point. “Targeting Lu Shan’en is the right move.”

She handed the newly printed documents to Tang Gu. “The Lu family’s public front is pharmaceuticals. But the drugs they import don’t meet safety standards. They use Chu Yu’s network to smuggle them in and sell them openly.”

“What’s strange is that no one’s ever reported them. No scandals, no exposés.”

[The world’s rules are bugged. NPCs without names won’t impact the protagonist squad.]

[Besides, we can’t go public with this. If Lu Shan’en escapes, we’ll lose our chance.]

[Even if he’s arrested, the Lu family’s power remains intact. Chu Yu would bail him out in a heartbeat.]

Jiang Zi listened to Tang Yuan’s inner thoughts, a faint smile flickering in her eyes. Who said my baby isn’t sharp? She’s brilliant.

Tang Gu skimmed the documents quickly. His mind worked fast, identifying the core issue immediately. “I’ve tried to stir the waters before, but it didn’t make a ripple. To truly bring down the Lu family, we need the entire building to collapse.”

He frowned. “External pressure won’t work. Based on my business projections, it’d take at least five more years.”

Tang Yuan lifted her chin proudly. “There’s a shortcut. If Meng Yao’er takes his place, Lu Shan’en loses his backing.”

Once Lu Shan’en has nothing left, Chu Yu would discard him like trash.

Tang Gu mulled it over, then finally recalled the name. “Lu family’s illegitimate daughter?”
