Villain MMORPG: Almighty Devil Emperor and His Seven Demonic Wives

Chapter 742: Nice Stunt

Villain Ch 742. Nice Stunt

Sophia winced as the pain shot through her body, a reminder of the consequences of her daring escape attempt. She glanced at her HP bar and grimaced as she realized it had decreased by a third. This was more damage than she was used to, but she had opted for basic gears this time around, wanting to keep a low profile. Now she was paying the price for her choice.

The injuries from her fall were evident, visible bruises marring her skin and blood trickling from the cuts and scrapes. It wasn't as bad as if she had faced the emperor's wrath, but it was enough to make her wince with every movement.

Despite the pain, Sophia made a conscious decision to ignore it. The sting of embarrassment far outweighed the physical discomfort. She could deal with the pain later, once she had salvaged what remained of her dignity.

With a wince of pain, Sophia struggled to her feet, cradling her injured body as she surveyed the scene around her. The confused looks from the other players only added to her discomfort, their silent stares weighing heavily on her already bruised ego.

But despite the ache in her bones and the disapproving glances directed her way, Sophia refused to back down. She had a story to tell, a truth that needed to be heard, and she wasn't about to let anyone dismiss her without a fight.

She swept her gaze around the crowd, searching for a sympathetic face among the sea of frowns and scornful smirks. Sophia's heart sank. Even Mila wore a look of disbelief, her eyes narrowed in suspicion.

Determined to set the record straight, Sophia took a deep breath and cleared her throat, steeling herself for the task ahead. "The witch chased me and attacked me!" she exclaimed, her voice ringing out loud and clear above the murmurs of the crowd. "She was in that building!" With a shaky hand, she pointed towards the broken window, hoping against hope that someone would believe her tale.

But as she glanced around at the skeptical faces surrounding her, Sophia felt a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. The truth was, she couldn't blame them for their doubts. After all, the only threats they had encountered thus far were the emperor and the fox demon. The witch had slipped under their radar, unnoticed and unacknowledged.

Once again, Sophia's pleas fell on deaf ears as the other players exchanged bewildered glances. They turned to look at the broken window she had pointed to, but once more, there was nothing there but shattered glass and empty space.

"There's no one there," one of them stated matter-of-factly, their tone tinged with skepticism.

Sophia felt frustration bubbling up inside her as she tried to make them understand. "She was there!" she insisted, her voice rising in desperation. Continue reading at empire

But the other players remained unconvinced, their expressions a mix of confusion and doubt. They racked their brains, trying to recall the events of just moments before.

"Was the witch here?" one of them asked, furrowing their brow in concentration.

Another player shook their head. "I only saw the emperor and the fox demon. I didn't see the witch at all," they said, echoing the sentiments of the others.

But even in the face of disbelief and skepticism, Sophia refused to give up. She knew what she had seen, and she was determined to make the others see it too, no matter what it took.

With a steely glint in her eye, she squared her shoulders and addressed the group once more. "I know what I saw," she said firmly.

The group of players stood in a huddle, their brows furrowed in confusion as they tried to make sense of Sophia's claims.

"So the witch hid in the potion store building? But for what?" one of them asked, his tone laced with skepticism. "I mean, the emperor alone is enough to kill us all easily. The witch doesn't need to hide at all," he reasoned, scratching his head in bewilderment.

Sophia rolled her eyes, frustration bubbling up inside her. "The witch is the one in charge of protecting the emperor, of course," she retorted, her annoyance evident in her tone.

"But why does she need to protect the emperor? He's the strongest among them," another player interjected, his frown deepening as he struggled to understand Sophia's logic. It just didn't add up in his mind.

Sophia sighed, feeling the weight of their disbelief pressing down on her.

"Are you trying to lie to us?" another player demanded, her disbelief evident in her tone as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"Sure, pick me," came a mocking voice from the back of the group, eliciting a few snickers from the others. It seemed that Sophia's attempts to convince them of the witch's involvement were falling on deaf ears.

But Sophia refused to back down. She knew what she had seen, and she was determined to make the others see it too, even if it meant facing their skepticism head-on.

"Look, I know it sounds crazy," she began, her voice tinged with frustration, "but you have to believe me."

Amidst the cluster of players, a dismissive scoff echoed from the back, followed by a cutting remark. "Pfft! Attention whore," a female voice sneered, the words dripping with disdain. Sophia couldn't pinpoint which player it came from, but it stung nonetheless.

"Sttt!" A hush fell over the group as someone shushed the outspoken player.

Sophia felt her cheeks flush with embarrassment at the insult, but she refused to let it deter her.

"I know that sounds strange," Sophia began, her voice tinged with frustration as she tried to defend herself once more. "But she was there. She was chasing me, but it seemed like she stopped her chase in the middle because of something." With a determined gesture, she pointed towards the potion store building, hoping to lend credence to her words.

But the skepticism in the group's eyes was palpable, their frowns deepening as they whispered among themselves in disbelief. Sophia could feel their doubts weighing heavily on her.
